SoftCafe is a small, non-corporate software company headquartered in sunny Cabin John Maryland, just minutes outside of our nation’s capital, Washington DC. Our customer base is diverse and includes thousands of independent restaurants, bars, eateries, hotels, country clubs, resorts, spas, caterers, food service distributors, and dispensaries.
Many hospitality management schools and universities also use our menu software in their restaurant management courses and curriculum.
In 1994 Håkon Wium Lie invented CSS and the National Science Foundation’s Mosaic Web Browser, credited with the birth of the internet, was just starting to take hold. That same year, SoftCafe released MenusDeluxe – the first automated restaurant menu design software program. A year later, renamed MenuPro® our software included the first ever drag-and-drop menu design system. In 1999 we added WebGuider® technology to sync printed menus to user websites. And after 10 versions of MenuPro for Windows we released iMenuPro® – a patented browser based, cross-platform web app for easy online menu design – affordable and accessible to everyone.
With the release of iMenuPro® our unique and time-tested menu creator is now readily accessible to users in all countries, on all devices — PCs, Macs, and tablets. We’ve spent over 30 years working on menu design software, leading to innovative technology that helps restaurateurs get things done right. Our design system of interchangeable Menu Styles and drag-and-drop menu creation is still unmatched and remains the industry standard.
With iMenuPro every small local restaurant can now make world-class menus and continually update them at virtually no cost, to offer unique and seasonal dishes that are unavailable at the chains. This not only reduces their operating costs but also helps them attract new customers and gives them a method to compete against big chains.
